From January 2021, new rules regarding joinery come into force in Poland. The most significant changes concern the energy efficiency of buildings. The new regulations also apply to window joinery. Who will be bound by the new rules and what will change?
The main objective of the new regulations is to focus on the energy efficiency of homes.
Who is subject to the new building regulations?
The act, which entered into force at the beginning of the new year, specifies the requirements for the heat transfer coefficient, which for vertical windows will be reduced from 1.1 W/m²K to 0.9 W/m²K.
A lot of heat escapes through the windows of our houses, which is why they are exacerbated, among others, regulations regarding their insulation. However, what should homeowners whose windows do not meet these requirements do? Don’t worry, it doesn’t mean that they have to replace the entire joinery right away. The regulations will only apply to investors who will obtain a building permit in 2021.
What does Uw coefficient say?
The Uw coefficient shows how much heat escapes from our homes through the windows. The lower the value of the coefficient, the better, because we lose less heat. The joinery we offer guarantees Uw at a much lower level than the regulations dictate. Depending on the lines and solutions we will use in our windows, the coefficient may be as low as 0.71 W/m2K.
In conclusion, investors who have obtained a building permit in the coming year and have decided to choose our windows can sleep peacefully and do not have to worry about the amendment of the building regulations. However, it is worth considering replacing windows if we want to reduce the amount of bills for heating rooms.
