class A: uPVC profiles with external wall thickness of no less than 2.8mm, and internal wall thickness no less than 2.5mm as per PN-EN 12608:2004

class B: uPVC profiles with external wall thickness of no less than 2.5mm, and internal wall thickness no less than 2.0mm as per PN-EN 12608:2004

coex: uPVC profile extrusion technology involving simultaneous extrusion of different uPVC mixes in one profile. Technology used by sarnaWindows.eu to prevent excessive heat absorption of external sash and frame sides in veneered windows – external profile walls of coloured profiles are extruded in white (with exception of the MS evolution system). In some profile systems external walls of white profiles are co-extruded in brown for external veneering (not used by MS due to negative influence of increased external profile temperature on window longevity). Co-extrusion is also used to incorporate recycled uPVC into internal (invisible) walls of the profiles. This pro-ecological process does not affect the quality of the windows in any negative way, and allows to sustainably recycle uPVC material numerous times.

woodgrain veneers (foils): wide array of uPVC decorative foils, based on the latest Cool*Colours solution that prevents excessive heat absorption caused by the sun. External walls of non-white base profiles used by sarnaWindows.eu are co-extruded in white, in order to limit the amount of absorbed heat - a very important factor if window is manufactured using the composite reinforcements technology.

half-flush sash: type of window sash, where external side of the profile is rounded and partially flush with the frame. The protruding sash element provides additional protection for the gasket and makes breaking in by jemmying the sash more difficult.

Solid mullion: vertical frame element dividing the window into separate smaller sections. Upon opening the window, solid mullion remains in the frame.

Flying mullion: vertical sash element fitted to a passive sash of a double window. Provides weather-sealing. Upon opening both sashes, frame remains unobstructed.

Transom: horizontal frame element dividing the window into separate smaller sections. Upon opening the window, transom remains in the frame.

Static mullions and couplers: mullions and couplers reinforced with stronger steel profiles to provide adequate window statics.

Solid bar: sash construction element dividing one large pane of glass into two separate smaller units. Available solid bars are 70mm (only white) and 90mm (any window-matching colour).

Entry door: heavy-duty uPVC door reinforced with closed steel profiles and weldable corner joints for adequate rigidity and durability. In standard fitted with aluminium mobility thresholds, 120kg load bearing hinges and handle operated MACO PROTECT multipoint hook espagnolettes. Other espagnolette types available as options.

Door panels: door infill panel used instead of glass. Wide range of available designs – from flat (white and coloured) to an array of moulded decorative panels with ornamental glazing.

Terrace door: light uPVC doors used as an exit onto a terrace or a back door to a house. In standard fitted with handle operated multi-point cam espagnolette. Optional hinges up to 100kg load bearing capacity, mobility aluminium threshold or security espagnolettes with hooks.

Door espagnolette: multi-point door locking system. Either cams (same as in windows) or hooks can be used as locking points. Available options include: 4-point, automatic and auxiliary lock variants.

Handle operated door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged by pulling the handle upwards. Turning the key locks the possibility to disengage locking points by pressing the handle. Especially recommended for uPVC doors as it is easy to use and greatly facilitates closing.

Key operated door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged by turning the key (traditional way). When locking the door, multi-point lock has to press the sash against the gaskets, which may cause a noticeable resistance while turning the key.

Automatic door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged automatically when sash is closed. Locking and unlocking is performed by turning the key, same as in key operated door espagnolette.

Ug: heat transfer coefficient for glazing (or another infill type)

Uf: heat transfer coefficient for the opaque window elements (window and sash frame)

Ψ: (Psi) linear heat transfer coefficient at the joint of glass and frame. Psi influences thermal performance of the whole window.

Uw: resultant heat transfer coefficient for the whole window combining all the above factors.
